The school year has come to an official end and with it goes a journey that began when I was just nine-years-old.
If you're one of my former students and you happen to read this, I want you to know that working with you has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Each and every one of you made me a better person.
Many of you opened my eyes to new worlds and taught me about your experiences; others of you were very good at teaching me patience (you know who you are) and that I shouldn't take myself too seriously.
We've shared laughs, sometimes despite my best efforts to at least appear professional, and we've shared tears and sorrows.
We've shared memories. We've created memories.
You have truly given me reason to hope in a brighter future.
I'm truly grateful.
Leaving the profession today is certainly bittersweet. I know it's the right move for myself and my family, but I'll definitely miss it.
I guess the only thing left to say is "Thank you."
